The project started with a deep understanding of applicable laws and regulations, a critical foundation when designing a government tax solution used by thousands of citizens. Any misinterpretation could result in incorrect verification, flawed filings, or legal consequences.

With this regulatory framework in place, we analyzed existing tax forms and gathered insights directly from end users to understand pain points in the current experience. These findings were synthesized into clear opportunity areas, informing the first prototype, which was subsequently validated through user testing.

The outcome was a user-friendly tax solution built around a generic, flexible flow that supports all tax types. The platform was designed to scale seamlessly, allowing new clients to adopt the solution while accommodating their specific laws and regulatory requirements.

To support long-term reuse and efficiency, a modular design system was created. Reusable components can be quickly adapted or re-styled for new clients within BearingPoint Caribbean’s benefit solution suite, significantly reducing both design and development effort, as components are already standardized and available in the Design System.
