VMC is known for pioneering one of the first real public transport pilots that uses blockchain technology to enable decentralized ticketing and payment systems. In collaboration with public transport operators such as Arriva, VMC implemented a live test where passengers could pay for bus rides using a blockchain-based system and a mobile wallet, scanning QR codes to check in and check out on board. This project demonstrated how blockchain can support secure, transparent value exchange and unlock new ways to integrate mobility services beyond traditional systems.
